Hanging Up
Made To Measure Curtains
When the curtains are received all you have
to do is hang them up. Hanging up curtains yourself is simple,
but often they come with a few instructions.
Fitting and hanging pencil pleat
curtains
Before you hang pencil pleat curtains, they
need to be pulled to the width that they will be when they are
closed. Fist step is to securely tie the three string cords in
the heading tape at each side of the curtain. On the side of
the curtain with the string pocket, pull the three cords at the
same time. This will gather the curtain in even pleats to the
required width. Do not cut off this excess cord as you will
need to let out the pleats to wash or dry clean your curtains.
The excess cord can be neatly wound up and hidden in the string
pocket.
Pencil pleat heading tape has three rows so
you can choose the height setting:
-
For tracks - Insert the hooks into the lower row of
pockets, so that the heading covers the curtain
track.
-
For poles - Insert the hooks into the top row of
pockets, so that the curtain hangs below the pole.
Check that you have the same number of hooks
in each curtain as gliders on the track or rings on the pole.
Don't forget to count the fixed end stop if you are using a
track. Attach each hook to a glider or ring. Your curtains are
now ready to hang
The heading tape for Triple Pleat curtains
should already be pulled to the required width before being
sent out to you, so this type of curtain should be straight
forward.
Hanging Tab top and Eyelet curtains will be
ready to hang, simply slide onto the curtain pole.
All curtains need time to settle and it may
take a few weeks for any creasing to drop out and the folds to
fall correctly.
